Energy

Energy is one of KIT’s core topics. Facility Management is responsible, among other things, for the energy supply at KIT’s Karlsruhe locations. In collaboration with Purchasing (EVM) and the Energy Management Team, FM is responsible for the cost-effective and sustainable procurement, conversion, and distribution of energy. In addition, its portfolio of responsibilities includes tracking the energy needs of all buildings (energy monitoring) and systematically identifying energy-saving opportunities based on the KIT Energy Management System in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. For the scientific institutes, Facility Management, together with the Energy Management Team, serves as a competent point of contact for research projects involving energy-consuming systems, equipment, products, institutions, and services. Additional internal information is available via the button.
